JGrrey Was Effortlessly Cool & Confident at Headline Gig!

Hackney Creative Social Club was buzzing with anticipation for R&B/Soul singer JGrrey’s sold out headline show and by her own admission ‘her first gig in ages’.

Starting with a bouncy Hip Hop & Alt mix from the DJ the chatter amongst the crowd was lively and eager. After some chilled vibes JGrrey walked onto the stage grabbed the mic and launched into Growing. Backed by her band the head nods and restricted two steps in the packed venue instantly started. She soared through song from her EP Grreydaze like Pretty Insane, All For You, Gods House where the crowd showed their support singing the lyrics at time louder than her. Even treating us to a unreleased untitled new song, hopefully she drops that soon.

There were various points throughout the show, where this happened. JGrrey didn’t falter once vocally, sounding exactly like her records and showing off her tremendous talent. Alongside a cool and confident demeanour when she engaged with the crowd, making jokes and dancing. Her 2018 Colors performance of Don’t Fade had everyone singing word for word, that she even fell out performing at the crowd reaction.

Little over 40 minutes and JGrrey night closed out with the singer revealing that she almost gave up making music and only continued because people were listening and kept DMing her about how much they loved her music. It was sweet antidote and was welcomed with many whistles and cheers.
