In recent years anybody looking down would have noticed what feels like an influx of New Balance trainers. In a world of impossible to cop limited edition releases and A-list endorsements you’ll be surprised to learn that this Boston born company was initially created to help alleviate foot pain for people with problem feet. Now New Balance seems to be absolutely everywhere and not just on the average Joe like you and me. An abundance of celebrities can be seen rocking the famous NB branding include the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Raekwon who is known to keep a pair of 574’s in constant rotation.
Not a brand to rest on its long history New Balance continue to evolve classic silhouettes for the modern world and the latest trainer to get a reboot is the classic 247. On first glance the updated 247 offers a more substantial upper design versus that of the original while bringing a similar chunky element that the Triple S and Ozweego’s excel at so well. The style offers a new midsole with exaggerated proportions and a flared mid foot area. The 247 debuts colour blocking options along the entire outer sole which give it defined pops of colour which are sure to stand out on foot.
I’m really feeling this new design and whilst the 247’s are not as adventurous and extroverted as some of the other trainers around at the moment the classic and timeless simplicity make it a mainstay in my summer rotation.
